The Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) is an autonomous organ of India’s largest body of professional engineers, ‘The Institution of Engineers (India)’. ESCI was established in the year 1981 with the mandate of providing quality training and education in engineering and techno-management domains.
ESCI as an outstanding provider of continuously evolving global market responsive trained professionals in the field of Engineering and Technology, Techno- Management Research, Development Engineers (RD&E) and Techno-management Professionals dedicated for excellence to deliver the innovative solutions that will improve productivity in all sectors of the economy.
A static engineering degree may not have much value. Today’s engineers also need to have emotional intelligence; must learn presentation and negotiation skills and cope with stress. They must be able to work in and with a team. Capabilities like strategic planning, risk management and critical thinking, which used to be part of management studies, are being added to an engineer’s training menu. Thus learning and adapting to newer technologies every day, along with enabling and leading teams of non-engineering stakeholders, the engineers of the future are charting a news course.
I am happy to inform that the 2021-22 annual training calendar focuses on CPDPs which combines different methodologies to learning, such as training workshops, conferences and events, e-learning programs, best practice techniques and sharing of ideas, visits, outbound training, and educational tours, all focused for an individual to improve and have effective professional development. ESCI is the only institute in Asia, imparting such training in almost all engineering, scientific and management domain under one roof.
ESCI has also carried out various prestigious World Bank assignments including programmes for international organizations like UNESCO, UNICEF, FANSA in India and abroad. It’s my privilege to inform you that ESCI is identified as one of the Key Resource Centers (KRC) for training activities by the Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Rural Water Supply and Department of Science & Technology. About 200 to 250 open and in-house programmes are being conducted every year. On an average 6000 engineers / managers from Government, R & D, Public and Private Sectors, Educational institutions are trained at our campus.
ESCI played an active part in the Central Government's efforts to achieve national mission objectives in Swatch Bharat (AMRUT), Rural Water Supply & Renewable Energy (Solar Photo Voltaic) and initiatives in Skill Development. Our Institute is venturing into emerging technologies such as Additive Manufacturing, Climate Change (Carbon foot prints), Intelligent Buildings, Information Security, Green Energy, Smart Grid, Block-Chain, IoT, AI, Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles, and ISO Accreditations. Our Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) focuses on accreditation and proficiency development of TEQIP Institutions.
To bridge the gap between industry and academics ESCI is conducting AICTE approved PGDM courses. The aim is to empower a student with necessary skills for professional growth and to design their career in a structured manner.
Keeping the dynamic requirements and the ever-increasing training needs of our customers, we have added new programmes for finishing school type’s requirement which will be useful for students of tier-2 states besides certification programme in various domains. Digital technology based job-oriented courses on Block-Chain Technology, Cyber Security, Climate Change, 3D printing, Simulation programmes etc., are an added attraction in this year’s calendar. We hope that the Professional Development Programmes scheduled for the FY2021-22 will meet the expectations of our esteemed customers and we look forward to your continued patronage to ESCI’s educational endeavors.
ESCI is planning now to be an active partner in new emerging ventures like ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT, COVAL FOR LOCAL and other contemporary schemes of Government of India. It also encourages the trainees to think innovatively out of the box which would be applied in their own field for the development of our country in general and in their own sphere of activity in particular.
To conclude, I would like to state that ESCI provides consultancy services to suit the requirements of clients in all engineering and management disciplines. ESCI’s group of thoroughbred consultants with their proven expertise executes these assignments and co-opts experts on need basis.
