Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) is an Autonomous Organ of The Institution of Engineers (India). Established in 1981, the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) is a premier center of excellence dedicated to high-quality training, education, and consultancy in engineering, technology, and techno-management.
As the engineering landscape undergoes rapid digitization, technical expertise alone is no longer sufficient. ESCI bridges the gap between academia and industry by equipping professionals with:
Each year, ESCI empowers approximately 8,000 professionals through 400–500 specialized programs, including:
Learning methodologies include workshops, conferences, e-learning, industry visits, study tours, and hands-on field exposure.
Under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and under the aegis of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), ESCI is implementing middle-management capacity building programs for engineers under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
Five different 3-day training programs were envisaged by PFC:
These programs are aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, regulatory understanding, sustainability, and technological preparedness of DISCOM engineers nationwide.
Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Government of India
ESCI is empaneled under the scheme “Workshop-cum-Training Programme for Development of Human Resources in States’/UTs’ Transport Departments”, supporting capacity building of transport and highway officials.
National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (NRIDA)
ESCI is empaneled by NRIDA, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. ESCI contributes to training and knowledge dissemination in rural infrastructure and connectivity sectors.
ESCI has successfully executed national and international assignments for:
It also serves as a Key Resource Centre (KRC) for:
In addition to training and education, ESCI provides expert consultancy services across engineering and management domains, offering customized, result-oriented solutions to meet client-specific requirements.
ESCI hosts a dedicated School of Post Graduate Studies, offering Graduate Courses like PGDM General Management and PGDM Infrastructure Management, and Undergraduate Courses like Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), B.Tech – Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), and B.Tech – Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. These programs are designed in alignment with industry needs and national skill frameworks.
These programs blend academic rigor with practical exposure to ensure career-ready professionals.
