The primary objective of the CCC is to promote awareness on climate change perspectives in diversified domains of environment, social and development sectors. Aims to build capacities through consultative / training workshops, round table discussions, symposiums, conferences and action research studies. Further encourages innovation through incubation facility. Promotes synergy through institutional collaboration and partnership.

Further, focus on mainstreaming principles & practices of climate adaptation and mitigation through multi-disciplinary approaches. Encourages participants to enable to develop “Implementation Manual”, as part of the training course. Promotes a special focus on mainstreaming disaster risk reduction as an integral part of planning and development.

CCC emphasizes on sustainable indicators & goals, the establishment of measurable indicators towards a way forward in climate adaptation & mitigation. Extends advisory consultation services and studies.

River basins are interconnected systems comprising rivers, tributaries, watersheds, groundwater systems, reservoirs, wetlands and surrounding ecosystems. Increasing water demand, climate variability, land-use change, sedimentation, pollution, floods and droughts are creating significant challenges for sustainable river-basin management. Conventional monitoring systems often provide spatially and temporally limited information. The integration of IoT-based sensors, remote sensing, GIS, artificial intelligence (AI) and real-time data analytics can provide a comprehensive framework for monitoring river discharge, water levels, water quality, sediment dynamics, groundwater interactions and basin-scale hydrological processes. This three-day programme focuses on the application of emerging technologies for river-basin assessment, integrated water-resources management, flood and drought risk management, ecological restoration and climate-resilient basin planning.
