Water is one of the most vital life supporting component of this planet without which there is no life on the earth. Water also constitutes as an equally vital input for industry particularly in power generation and process industry. In thermal power plants, which are the major water consumers of industrial sector, water acts as a heat-carrying medium, which extracts heat from burning coal flame and rotates turbine to generate electricity. In the process industry, water is one of the most important inputs for almost all chemical processes.

With growing urbanization, there is a rapid and concentrated load growth in cities especially in the crowded commercial centers with high rise buildings. Paucity of space is the main constraint to construct conventional substations. On the contrary, Gas Insulated Substations are the ideal option, as they need very less space compared to conventional substations. Introduction to cater these urban loads even the basements of the buildings can be planned to build new GIS substations, with the development of SF6 Gas insulated Switchgear, we are now able to build compact Substations. Concerned engineers must process complete exposure to the O&M of GIS, Substation for reliable Power Supply.

Energy security forms the backbone of country’s all-round development, and presently fossil fuels are contributing about 56.8% of total power generation in India while renewable energy sources like hydro, solar and wind together contribute about 41.4%. Environmental pollution is one of the most serious issues the world is facing today, and power generation through fossil fuels contributes its gigantic share to the pollution. In order to save the planet-Earth from the galloping pollution effects, it’s a well-established conclusion that power generation through fossil fuels is to be reduced, while renewable power should be mandatorily increased and encouraged. In this context, Govt. of India has set an ambitious target of 500 GW Renewable generation by 2029-30.
